A Fun-Filled Friday

On Friday Chad had the day off, so we decided to take the kids down to the Children's Museum in St. Paul. We'd never been there before, so we were excited to see what the kids thought of it. They absolutely LOVED it! The first exhibit we visited was the Curious George one. It was filled with many great, hands-on activities. Carson especially liked the miniature golf one, although I think he spent the majority of his time sitting on the bench next to the statue of George giving him hugs and kisses. Peyton really liked just wandering around and interacting with all the other kids.

The next exhibit we went to was the Sesame Street one. Both of the kids were so excited to run up the stairs and knock on the famous green doors next to Oscar's trash can. Carson got pretty upset that the doors didn't open, but we were able to distract him by telling him Elmo was waiting to talk to him on TV. One of Peyton's favorite things at this exhibit was a giant screen where they showed clips from old episodes with people singing and dancing...we had a pretty intense dance party there!

After we finished visiting the "traveling exhibits", we moved on to the permanent ones. The "Habitat" exhibit was a HUGE hit with both the kids. Peyton was thrilled to be able to play in the water of the flowing streams, and Carson had fun crawling through the ant tunnels and sticking his head up through the turtle's shell. We also visited a couple of other exhibits that had a ton of hands-on activities, all of which involved water and/or bubbles....every kids dream! We lasted about 3 and a half hours before Carson looked as though he was going to collapse from exhaustion. We hadn't even gotten out of the parking ramp before he was zonked out! The Children's Museum is definitely somewhere we'll have to try to get to more often!

Thanks for posting that! We took the boys last year when Bob the Builder was there and now Ryan is so incredibly into Elmo Chad and I have been talking about going back. It definitely looks like it would be worth the trip and that you had lots of fun!

We joined the Children's Museum when Peanut was about 18 months. There is something for every age and she doesn't get sick of the exhibits - even the permanent ones. She (we) went 3 times in one week once!
