This is one of my favorite shots out of the 500+ pics I took while on my girls weekend in Chicago. Absolutely LOVE it!!
Wordless Wednesday - Just Another Day At The Park
Posted by Libby Design Labels: Kids, Wordless WednesdaysOver the weekend we did a landscape project (tearing up the nappy sod along side our driveway that gets snow heaped on it and replacing it with landscape rock - you can see it a little in the photo on the left side). As we were shoveling the rock yesterday Peyton decided to "help". She was SO proud of herself. She kept saying "I help you, okay? Yeah!". I bet she made at least 15 trips from the rock pile to where we were dumping the rock. Thanks for being such a good helper, Peyton!
Sorry, I know "Wordless Wednesday" technically means post a picture WITHOUT words, but I just have a tough time NOT writing something!! Anyway...some of you have heard me talk about Peyton's friend Carter from ECSE. From day 1 of school she came home talking about "Carter". I had no idea at the time that Carter would end up pretty much becoming family!! It's been fun to see their "friendship" grow, and even though Carter doesn't always have a lot to say, they've become the best of friends!! Here are a few pictures of Peyton & Carter - some of them walking down the hall together after school (they recently took their friendship to a new level - holding hands as they walk down the hall - so cute!!) and then there's a picture of them at Peyton's birthday party. Thank you Carter for being such a good friend to Peyton...even though she can be a little bossy sometimes!

Posted by Libby Design Labels: Kids, Wordless WednesdaysWhile we were in Florida on spring break we visited The Shell Factory which is basically a big warehouse full of bins piled high of every shell you could imagine. Right by the check out counter there were a couple of life-size pirate statues...one was a skeleton dressed in pirate clothing and then there was this guy sitting down who had a creepy eye and apparently was another pirate. Well Peyton saw the guy who was sitting down and instantly ran over to him. She stood there staring at him trying to figure out what to think, then she started talking to him and said, "You sad? I hug you." She was SO worried about him - she kept asking me "He crying? Have owie on eye?"
She's such an empathetic little thing!!
Wordless Wednesday - Florida Here We Come!!!
Posted by Libby Design Labels: Kids, Wordless WednesdaysI stumbled across this picture from 2006 and it made me laugh. I'd forgotten about how Peyton loved to climb in the big storage cupboard under in our entertainment center. I'd come downstairs and couldn't figure out where she was. Then I'd hear her saying one of the few words she had at that time, "Boo!". What a little cutie!!
Well it's official - Peyton is online dating at age 4. Her "boyfriend", Carter, from preschool got a web cam and so they've been Skyping. Now I catch Peyton in the office all the time sitting at the computer saying, "Carter, I call you!" as she's scrolling through everything on the computer in search of the Skype icon. Slightly annoying because she's renamed several of my files, but ya can't help but love the precious little bond between these two sweeties!
That's what vacuuming is at our house. Honestly, I think the kids would rather help vacuum than go somewhere fun like Chuck E. Cheese. It's nuts. Keepin' my fingers crossed they enjoy it this much ten years from now. Last night Chad started vacuuming upstairs while Peyton was downstairs. The second she heard the vacuum start up she went frantically running up the stairs yelling, "Daddy, no!!! Wait for me!".
