Peyton's Field Trip ... and other stuff

Since I just posted on Carson, I thought it only fair to write an update on Peyton, too!

Last week I had the privilege of going to the Children's Museum with Peyton's preschool class. It was a lot of fun and Peyton thought it was the COOLEST thing that MOM was on the bus with her! I enjoyed seeing her interact with her classmates and watching them explore everything at the museum. The Sesame Street exhibit was her favorite (imagine that!), followed closely by the Water exhibit that had the huge tub for bubble making. Here are a few pictures from our trip:

In other exciting news, we dogsat for some friends last week and Peyton now has a new best friend...Maisy. Every time we watch someone's dog a part of me really wants to get another dog just seeing how the kids LOVE having one around. Then I think back to all the work dogs require and I just don't know if we're ready for another one quite yet. Probably soon, though. For now we'll just petsit. Oh, and we watched our neighbor's goldfish for a week, too. That was hugely exciting.

Last, but certainly not least, we had a BIG breakthrough last weekend. Peyton went potty on the toilet!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's been wanting to sit on the potty and go through all the motions now for over a year, but with her muscle incoordination she hadn't figured everything out yet. Well now she has!! She's gone several more times and is SO thrilled that she can go potty just like everyone else now. It probably sounds silly, but I started crying when she went the first time – just seeing the look of amazement on her face and then seeing how that one little thing boosted her self-confidence so much was a little overwhelming for me at the time...in a good way. She's just such a sweetheart and we're so happy to watch her make more and more progress each day!! We love you, Peyton!
