Car Problems

Okay, so maybe the picture is a little dramatic, but seriously...I HATE car problems. The other day I pulled in to the parking lot at Peyton's school and all my dash gages died. Very strange. When I came back out from walking Peyton to her classroom, everything worked just fine. Very strange...again. Yesterday as I backed the car out of the garage to drop the kids off at school & daycare the instrument panel was flickering. Perfect! Who needs to know how fast their driving or what gear the car is in? Not me...I'm not only a Super Mom, but I also have the incredible gift of knowing how fast I'm going without even looking at my speedometer! What a great gift to have on the first 50 degree day of the spring when cops are out in full-force looking for those careless people out for a joyride....SPEEDING! And good thing we live out in the middle of no where so there aren't usually many cars on the road to help you gage how fast you're going. Ugh.

Last night we checked all the fuses after reading through the owner's manual, but they're all good. About two years ago we had something similar happen, only I was stranded down at work in Eden Prairie with a car on the fritz. That happened a couple of times, and it took 3 trips to two different shops and a new battery before we got to the bottom of it. This time around, I said screw it...we're going straight to the dealership. The last thing I need is to get stranded somewhere with both kids. No thanks.

So here I sit...and what a magical experience this has been. The dealership has WIRELESS INTERNET!!! Could it get any better than that??? Yep, so now I'm just sitting here praying it's nothing too expensive to fix. Right as we're getting ready to celebrate our last car payment on our other car...the van acts up. It's always something.

Love the picture, but at first I thought it was a real SUV you saw and took a picture of! Whoa! I know the feeling, though, of hating car problems. Believe me, (even if you don't remember your childhood!), we have had PLENTY of car problems. So I can truly relate. Hopefully, you can find a solution that isn't too costly also. I'll be praying to that end. Love you, Mom

Sorry about the car problems, there is almost no worse way to blow your money than on car issues! Hope you are doing well!

So what ended up being the problem? Hopefully nothing too spendy.

I'm always glad if I leave a repair shop / dealership for under $500. It's like I go in for an oil change and they say, "You need this, this, and this NOW. That'll be $1200." Um, I only wanted to spend $16.99...
